Step three. Put the mount onto a vise. If you don't have a vise, you'll have some trouble with this step. What you'll need to do is 'pull' the mount open, or twist the mount to open the spaces your trying to fill so you can get the rubber into them. This is tough as it goes along...the first piece of rubber will slide in ok, but by the last piece you'll be busting blood vessels trying to get it open! I used a large screwdriver or long extension from a ratchet and slid it into the center sleeve of the mount. The trick here is to figure which way to 'pull' the mount so as to open the spaces as much as possible. If they don't open all the way, the rubber may be loose when your done. But don't forget, as you put the additional pieces of rubber into the gaps, the mount will become increasingly harder, and that's the idea here isn't it? This should get VERY difficult! You want the mount to be as stiff as possible. Never fear, this will be well worth it! After your done you can try and move the mount while still in the vise....it's tougher isn't it!? :)

Step four. In the last step, I used a clear silicone exterior calk to reinforce my work. I put a liberal amount of silicone in and around the entire mount to help keep things together. Make sure it's a flexible silicone and not the hard stuff. You want it to move with the rubber...what little it will move. Make sure to use a clear silicone so you know when it's dry. You'll see white until then. This should take the good part of a day or so in a warm place.

Well, that's it! Put the mounts back in place (make sure in the right place) and drive you car! If you notice the silicone cracking that's ok. After two years I still have no problems with this fix, except the silicone cracking a little. I noticed a difference in the car as well. There is a lot more vibration into the car, which is what you want in a stiff mount. I've raced, hit 13's, and still have the rubber intact!
